The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

drain petition
finds documents containing 'drain' or 'petition'

drain or petition
same as above
drain and petition
finds documents containing both 'drain' and 'petition'

drain not petition
finds documents containing 'drain' but not 'petition'

(drain not petition) and tile
finds documents containing 'tile', plus 'drain' but not 'petition'
